Supermarine Walrus
A collection of paintfiles for Jacques Brault's Supermarine Walrus.
Flying The Walrus.
The Walrus cruises between 95 and 120mph. Normal patrol speed would be around 95. Water landing is at about 60mph with a little power. See http://www.sticknrudder.co.uk/walrus_article.htm for a good note on the subject.
About the files.
These are paint and detail sets for Jaques Brault's Walrus Mk.I for X-Plane 8.64 and 9. In addition to the paint files, they include:
1. A modified cockpit object - front crewman and machine gun removed; rear machine gun removed; wing cut-out plugged and a few little details added.
2. A new "rods.obj". The Bristol Pegasus (and their other poppet valve engines) had four valves and forked rockers with a distinctive single pushrod tunnel. I have replaced Jaques' generic pushrod objects with a more suitable representation.
3. Modified paint files for the objects.
Copyright and Licence.
In each package; Walrus_paint.png, Walrus_paint2.png, objects/rods.obj: Copyright © 2008 David P. Plunkett.
All other files are mainly the work of Jaques Brault with some modifications by David Plunkett.
